THE FYPIRL SHOW

Singapore’s first public live-commerce talk show launches at *SCAPE

Entrepreneurship, confidence, wellness and the idea of becoming 1% better come together in a recurring conversation at *SCAPE.

Updated 9 October 2026

What does it take to start a business, find confidence or make a change that lasts? The FYPIRL Show gives these questions a public setting, bringing founders, creators and experts together to share experiences and explore ideas with an audience that can join the conversation.

Created by FYPIRL, in partnership with L^IFE Singapore, The FYPIRL Show launches at *SCAPE this October as Singapore’s first public live-commerce talk show. Hosted by entrepreneur and marketer Gene Kwok, PBM, its podcast-style conversations span entrepreneurship, confidence, wellness and everyday life. Product demonstrations and live shopping can form part of an episode where they connect with the subject being explored.

The regular programme will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays during a six-month pilot residency at the L^IFE Camping Ground, *SCAPE’s main concourse. Organised in partnership with L^IFE Singapore, it establishes an ongoing programme beyond the inaugural FYPIRL Fair on 16–18 October.

Stories, ideas and the possibility of getting 1% better

A founder can talk about the decisions and setbacks involved in building a business. A creator can share how they found their voice or learned to put their work into the world. Makeup artists, doctors and other specialists can offer perspectives on confidence, wellbeing and the habits that shape everyday life.

The connecting idea is becoming 1% better. An episode might leave someone with a different way to think about a problem, a practical question to ask or a small change they want to try. The value lies in what audiences can take from another person’s experience and apply to their own.

Kwok’s own experience building businesses and working with brands informs that approach. Conversations can move between a guest’s work and the personal experiences behind it: the uncertainty of starting something, the choices involved in growing it and the lessons learned along the way.

For emerging brands, including those introducing themselves to Singapore, that is an opportunity to explain what makes their work distinctive. The story of how a business began, why a product was developed or who it was designed for can be difficult to convey through a price and a product image alone.

A public audience changes the experience

Visitors at *SCAPE can watch the live recording, ask questions and try featured products. Online viewers can join the conversation and shop through the livestream. The two audiences share the discussion, while the physical setting adds something a screen cannot convey on its own: the opportunity to form an impression of the product firsthand.

A texture shown on camera can be felt in person. An explanation can prompt a question about how a product fits into a particular routine. Someone who arrived curious about a brand can hear its founder’s thinking and compare that with their own experience of trying it.

Shopping remains part of the format, alongside conversations that stand on their own. Someone may come away with a product they want to try, a useful insight about wellbeing or encouragement to pursue an idea. Each episode aims to offer something worthwhile whether or not a viewer makes a purchase.

A first look with Tołpa

A special launch-weekend edition on 17 October will feature leading Polish dermocosmetics brand Tołpa, whose skincare range is now available at selected Unity stores. The session will explore acne care and skin-barrier repair through the brand’s belief that beautiful skin comes from healthy skin, and its approach to treating the skin, not just the symptom.

That means looking beyond an individual blemish to the condition of the skin, including hydration and barrier support. Tołpa takes a science-based approach to skincare, with its dermo face range tested under dermatologist supervision. Its “Tołpa Just Works” promise expresses the ambition to make effective skincare straightforward and earn a reputation for products people can depend on.

Visitors can ask questions and try products, while online viewers can interact and shop through the livestream. Tołpa’s free skin testing will also be available at the fair. The session time and final guest line-up will be announced separately.

The edition introduces the format during the three-day FYPIRL Fair, alongside product discovery, sampling and workshops. It offers an early look at the kind of subject-led conversation the regular programme aims to develop.

A programme to return to

The Tuesday and Thursday schedule gives the Show a life beyond a launch appearance. Different founders, creators and experts can bring new subjects and experiences to the programme, giving audiences reasons to return even when they are not shopping for a particular product.

For participating brands, the opportunity extends beyond a sale during a broadcast. A founder’s explanation can help people understand a product; a creator’s experience can prompt further interest; and a visit to the venue can turn that interest into a firsthand encounter. FYPIRL aims to help brands build familiarity and lasting relationships through those experiences.

The six-month pilot provides a period in which to develop the format and learn from the questions and participation it attracts. The ambition is a recurring place for useful, open conversations about building businesses, living well and making progress in everyday life.

Beyond the broadcast

FYPIRL, inspired by FYP (For You Page) and IRL (In Real Life), is building a platform to help brands launch and grow through product discovery, physical retail and lasting creator partnerships. Its year-round store at *SCAPE, secured on a two-year lease, gives selected brands a place where shoppers and creators can continue exploring products beyond an episode or event.

The FYPIRL Creator World app supports the relationships that can follow. Approved creators choose products to try using allocated Discovery credits, while brands can explore content commissions, affiliate opportunities and separately agreed advertising rights. Creators can also book livestream facilities at the physical hub.

A conversation on the Show can therefore lead in several directions: an idea to reflect on, a habit to try, a brand to explore or a product to experience at the store. The recurring programme gives audiences a place to return for new perspectives as well as new discoveries.
